Public group chats

Hi,

I tried to join a few group chats on AIM listed on this site[1], and even one that wasn't listed. I'm using Pidgin 2.14.1 on Arch Linux. Nothing happens when I do this. There's also nothing in the system/user log. Does this not work with this client?
