Aim 7 tests server slowness causing time out?

Steve

Has anyone gotten AIM 7 to work? It has a settings/connection option to change the server and even use a proxy if you wish.

I tried with AIM 7.5.8.2, (after changing the connection settings) and it says "signing on..." for like 30-40 seconds, then fails without any error, As if its timing out though.

I checked some of the XMLS and the "defaults.xml" had a number of references to the AOL login/auth servers, to which I changed to the iwarg address (changed the 443 ports to the 5190 as well).

Tried connecting again same thing. signing on until fail.

I then connected with my 5.9 tried and true aim, and it took like 5 minutes to get through the 3 stages that are shown of the sign on.

At the time of this post, theres like 180+ people online, so IM guessing the servers are just being hammered and maybe the AIM 7 is timing out trying to connect. Ill check for timeout settings, but I wanted to ask here...

Has anyone had any luck with AIM 7 before the server slowness issues right now?

Phoenix doesn't support the login type that AIM 7 uses yet. In fact, AIM 6.2 onwards don't work for that reason either.
