buddy chat keeps starting

fyi im running AIM 6.0 on windows XP, anyway, whenever im invited to a Buddy Chat, the top bar just says "Starting Buddy Chat Session..." if this is meant to happen plz say and if not can you tell me how to fix it, thx.

[edit] im using 5.1 now and if i start the chat it always crashes and this also happens to the people i try to start the chat with

err I don't have specs on how the CHAT services protocol differs for AIM 6.x so AIM6 is broken in terms of advanced functions like that
