Trying to use Miranda

[I just realized I posted in the wrong area, so check Helpline for my updated help request message. Can't connect using either AIM Lite or Miranda.]

Have people had good luck using Miranda with this? I have downloaded version 0.8.9 and inserted my account name and password and the correct URL and port for Phoenix. I followed the directions about disabling SSL and also checked "Force Single Client", but it won't connect. Tries to but fails.
