AIM doesn't open

All the versions of the AIM client(Phoneix version not included) do not work for me. They simply open, take between 1 to 9 MBs of RAM, and then don't do anything else. Please help!
AIM tamer would not help in this situation as it doesn't lock up the desktop.

Edit 1:I now realize this is not the right category. Can someone move this to the help section for me? I thought it was the help section.
Edit 2:Turned out I needed AIM Tamer anyways since I was testing everything but the 5.0 and 5.1 clients. Yeah those lock up the desktop for some reason. Didn't work either though. Also, Windows 8.1 but this goes for Windows 10.

Try use Windows 98/XP compatibility mode

@silent1st
Sadly, that did not fix my issue. I have tried that compatibility mode and if anything, it made it immune to AIMtamer. I tried 3 times and it became immune once so I don't know what to think of that but still. It's fustrating since I really WANT to move to Phoenix.

It doesn't let you sign in?

Because I downloaded I believe AIM 5.0 on Windows 7 and it had no problem.

What AIM version are you using?

I've mentioned I used every version of AIM at this point. And not only does it not let me log it, it simply doesn't even show the login screen! It just doesn't load.
