I'll give some props to sswag for finding the dang thing, but I decided to install and test it for myself. It seems to do pretty good with iWarg's server, and I could even send messages without the dated text compatibility getting in the way.

And if you don't have a Japanese Windows installation (or don't plan to), you can use Locale Emulator to launch AIM and make it render the Japanese characters properly. http://pooi.moe/Locale-Emulator/ A foreign language application is better than garbage text. :p
Afterwards, you can patch everything as normal (assuming you know what you are doing) and log in. Have fun!
