AIM 5.1 Won't Start

I'm using Win10 & I've got AIM Tamer to keep it from freezing my PC. I've successfully installed and can reliably open AIM on my other PC, but getting it to work on my friend's PC's is nigh impossible. I'm unsure if I did something different on mine that I'm just not remembering.

Is there a walkthrough somewhere of the complete installation process?

Aim Tamer should only be required when aim.exe hangs and starts hour glassing aka freezing your system up.

So try copying over aimapi.dll to the other pc and place it in the aim directory. (don't forget to rename the original file aimapi.dll to aimapi.dll.bkup.

It may load two errors, but the client will load up.

If the other PC is using the stock installer, this won't work. You need the patched version of aimapi.dll for windows 10 which can be found on the forums.
