Pidgin (Latest) Friend Offline but Not

So I'm having a strange situation where when I sign in, my buddy can hear the sound of my signing in kick off through Pidgin, but I appear offline to them. They also appear offline to me. When they send me a message, I receive nothing. When I send them a message, I receive nothing.

I confirmed and tested iwarg working with Pidgin several days ago before this incident. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there a known issue right now I am not aware of?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Edit: I also am using AIM 5.1.3 as well with the same account and another buddy of mine shows up as online on AIM 5.1.3 but offline on Pidgin. Seems like some sort of disconnect or another issue server side?

After Pidgin crashed everything seems to be working again after a reboot.

Not sure what the reason behind it was, but I'm going to consider it working for now :)

some event keeps happening at some point which causes the serer to hang without any type of error code or stack trace, sometimes it might happen after a few hours, or a few days..

Well if I am honest I would be incredibly surprised if the transition from using AOL's backend to something new would proceed without any bumps or issues along the way. Hopefully you guys will find a solution soon :)
