Setting up AIM on VM

I have AIM 5.0 on my Windows 10 PC and for laughs made a Win98SE VM w/internet access to use AIM on for nostalgia. How to I "sync" my AIM to the VM? Growing up I never had to set up AIM on a different PC. Do I just import the the .blt file to the VM AIM?
