I uninstalled and reinstalled it but that didn't help

Could you give more details, such as what OS and CPU type (32 or 64 bit) you're using? Thanks

Windows XP 32 bit

UPDATE: I think it's something to do with my buddy list. I got a couple of screennames on it. I just registered a new screenname and AIM didn't freeze when I logged in with it.

I can't seem to create a new thread, so I have to bump this one. But, I am experiencing the same issue.rnrnI have tried AIM clients 3.5, 4.7, 4.8, 5.0 and 5.1 with the same exact results. When I sign in and the buddy list window appears, AIM immediately stops responding and I must close it through task manager. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't solve the issue.rnrnI have tried this on a Pentium III 1GHz system with 384MB RAM and Windows 98SE. I also tried this in a VMWare Virtual Machine with Windows XP Professional and 1GB RAM. Same result between clients, operating systems, etc.rnrnI am wondering if this is a server side problem? One friend appears as offline, but others that I know should appear as online show as offline.
