So running AIM 5.1 kills my computer.

I use windows 10 and as I tried to run AIM 5.1 my computer basically stopped working.
Help?

I get that sometimes on W7,but it doesn't actually lock the entire computer up, just anything that has to do with windows explorer shell. I wrote a program that I launch before opening AIM and if it does this I just click the button in the program to terminate the AIM process, strangely AIM works without error the second time I start it. I just added the program to the downloads section.
