how do you turn off ssl settings?

i understand that to send instant messages you need to disable ssl and "use advanced server" should be set to "no", but i can't seem to find either of these anywhere. i'm running aim 5.1 on windows 7 professional.

ok? (i don't really know anything about tech.)
either way i can't send messages to anyone (i keep getting error code 13). those were the answers i got and i don't know how else to fix it.

that would likely mean that the username you are trying to send messages to does not exist, if they were offline the message would be sent to the offline message queue .
