Beta Tester

The new server suite is nearing a finished enough phase that I will soon be taking applicants for beta testing. while on the new test server you will only be able to chat with others also on the server, until it is finished and made live.

The new server will hopefully alleviate problems with severe slowness and excessive down time, multiple BOS server nodes can run across multiple machines allowing for creation of an entire server farm, and the authorizer server will act as a load balancer. In the event a BOS node crashes all users of the crashed node will automatically be migrated to a still running node. The crashed node will be restarted and the load balancer will allocate new incoming connections to it.

P2P node communications are now working, one big step closer to success.

I'm probably over-engineering it, but I was going to try having multiple instances of each component, use an event bus (possibly RabbitMQ) and try to dockerize everything.

Other projects have taken my interest away at the moment though.

Why are you still using VS2010?

vs2010 does everything I need to accomplish, later versions seem excessively bloated and slow.

I agree with the bloat, after 2013 it really took off on how slow it's been getting. I had to use 2017 for the past year and it's a sluggish pile of crap once you have like 20+ projects in a solution and often freezes up and crashes.

the Microsoft effect.
1. "acquire" a product
2. start "patching" it
3. eventually make it a bloated slow unstable mess.
4. replace it.
