AIM 4.7 on Mac OS 9 Wrong Login Credentials

I'm trying to connect to the server using AIM 4.7 on Mac OS 9, but even though I have the server set up properly, and I'm positive that I'm typing in my screenname and password correctly, but every time I try and log in, it says that my screenname or password is incorrect.

I'd guess that apparently there is some character in your password string that the old AIM encryption absolutely does not like..

Ah, I do have a non-alphanumeric character in my password, so that may be it. Let me change that and see if it works!

EDIT: Nope, no such luck. I changed my password so that it's only alphanumeric, but that didn't change anything. :(

Perhaps there's something I'm missing in the settings? Should I be doing anything with the proxy settings from what you can tell in my screenshot?

there is no proxy in use. I know that versions of the classic mac client have been tested to work..

Maybe you could boot up a VM in Sheepshaver and see if you have the same issue trying to log into your account on v4.7?
